The clock is framed between two columns and topped with ornate decorations.
Black and white marble are used for the base and columns.
Ormolu (gilded bronze) detailing throughout — including the floral and foliate motifs, griffins, decorative appliqués, and the bezel around the clock face.
Dial White enamel with black Roman numerals.
Marked "Guigou à Lyon", suggesting it was made or retailed by Guigou, a clockmaker or retailer in Lyon, France.
Features two winding holes, indicating an 8-day movement with time and striking functions.
Top finial: Elaborate foliate urn with scrolling acanthus leaves.
Side ornaments: Winged griffins beside the urns—common in Neoclassical art, symbolizing strength and protection.

Traditional French round movement, with some blued screws indicating quality craftsmanship.
Summary
This is a French Neoclassical mantel clock, ca. 1790–1830, made during the Directoire or early Empire period. Its combination of white and black marble with detailed ormolu work, mythological motifs, and sunburst pendulum makes it a decorative and collectible piece
